ok, until he starts singing... I think the Beatles did it better the first time, no need for improvements  ;)

Yeah, lol.

I don't think I have ever heard anyone re-do a Beatle song and make it sound better than the original.

That is me singing with some music I got from a karaoke site. I think whoever did the music got it pretty darn close to the original, which I'd imagine to be difficult on that song.

The soundtrack to the film I Am Sam was completely made up of Beatle covers. Some not-too-bad some downright horrible.  Still an interesting listen.

Oh, and you can't knock Aerosmith's take on "Come Together".

Then I think it is pretty dammed good. Certainly compared to the screeching wreck I would product.

Thanks Charon.

If anyone cares, go to youtube and search for "I am the walrus". Listen to the original.

Bono, Jim Carey, Styx and others have done covers of it. I think that my vocal (which was sung in one take with no effects, other than EQ) stands up against anyone else's version..but that's just me. My vocals may be a little too loud in the mix though.

I just tried to make it sound like the original, but I did not distort my vocals like Lennon did.

Really, just do this for fun though. I love this song. The lyrics are dumb, but overall I think this song really kicks arse. One of my favorites.

That "Son of Sam" soundtrack did have some pretty good covers.

sorry for posting so much in my own thread.

However, I have an honest request. Could someone here take my mp3 and make a video with a Beatle theme and post it here.

I want to post this song  on Youtube just for the hell of it but I don't have any video software/skills.

I think America has voted and your off the Idol. Now say something sappy to Seacrest on the way off the stage.   JK, better then I could do.

Not to bad Nuke.   You seem to be straining at times though.   Just my observation from not knowing how relaxed you were, etc.

This isn't an easy tune to sing like Lennon, as the range is all over the place.    I think you did damn good considering.

Here is another karaoke Beatle song.

I don't think it's that amazing or anything, but I kind of like it.
