Ok, now it's official; the BW-372 has been loaned to FAF museum for next three and half years:

Gripen,
Are they going to restore it, or leave it in the state it is?
I regret doing business with TD Computer Systems.

Bodhi,
The press announcement says that it will be not restored to the flying condition but to the condition it was when lifted from the Lake. That sounds a bit hazy but I quess they are not really sure yet; I know that they are investigating the condition of the plane to find out what can be done. Anyway, in the weekend it will be in the FAF 90 years celebrations and after that it will be in the FAF museum.

You know, when I first read about the Brewster in the eighties, when I was a kid and fascinated by anything with wings, every account said it was cr*p and that none survived.

Much, much later I learned about what the FAF did with it and the kind of kill ratio they racked up. The odd message about how BW-372 was somehow retrieved from Russia caught my interest and I shook my head in disbelief when I learned that those strange Ameerikans wanted to display her in Battle of Midway colors.

But all's well that end's well. Might have to go to Finland in the near future to see her  :aok
