Heres a thread that may help you out.
I think Krusty has some guides in his signature, too.

I'm not a fan of simmer's

I've put together a basic How to create AH Skins tutorial. I need to update it with a couple of points folks have pointed out, but it's a good start.

Also you'll probably want to look at the Aces High Skins Catalog to see if what you want has already been included in the game.

Well Ms if your going to try skin a plane you may as well go for one with your name on it. Notice it has 2 sets of nose art on it.

What do you use then? I'm in the middle of a conundrum regarding the shade of the RLM 75 they have.

Compared with the black and white photos of aircraft I have, their shade is too light. The photos show quite a disparity between RLM 75 (light grey) compared with the RLM 76 (light blue). You have pointed this out yourself at one point, Krusty, on my re-working of NrRaven's II./JG 3 K4.

I'm currently working on darkening the colours and so far the only version of a RLM 75 that I see fitting the shades in the photo is a sample I took from one of Fencer's 109 G6s. It was a 74/75/76 scheme and I took a sample from the absolute lightest part of the paint I could find... Even that seems a little too dark but it looks a little closer to the photo I'm working from.

the IPstockholm site has some absolute rubbish listed as RLM colours. No one in their right might could possibly accept some of them...they're awful. On the other hand, they do have some very reasonable swatches too... so I don't know. To my eye on my monitor their RLM 75 is too dark... So i don't know what to do.

I'll roll with my custom paint for the II./JG 3 K4, which I'm finishing right now in order to get my two K4s in for the next skin batch.

On the other hand, I used Simmer's colours for my JG 26 Fw 190 A5 which is painted in 74/75/76 and I think that the colours look pretty damn good when they're all put together. I'm not suggesting that is a result of my work, just the colours provided. However, when you place the 75 with 83 and 76 it looks too light.  :huh
