Whatever you think larry.
If my 486 could compute some 30+ nascars behind me, i see no reason it couldnt handle a few fighters behind it.

But hey, no use beating a dead horse.

Where you playing in an arena with 600+ more people? Call HTC and ask them because they have already said why. So yes you could see the reason you just dont want to.

Generally when you're the only one who doesn't see the reason there are two possibilities:

1. You're very much smarter than anyone else who's looked at the problem.  This is quite likely, and with some effort you could capitalize on it...true vision is rare and you probably won't have any trouble hiring the coders to make it a reality.  My advice is to build a business plan and go for it.  Most businesses fail from lack of starting, so don't be shy and never give up.

2. You're missing something; possibly something basic.  This is also not uncommon, particularly when you aren't intimately familiar with the system in question.  However, that does not rule out the possibility that the system couldn't be improved and the original design assumptions can't be changed.  Often when you want a given result the solution is a fresh outlook on where you are and where you want to go.  Dale might be so fixated on his current implementation he has failed to see an elegant change will take it to the next visual level.

Everyone else's opinion is irrelevant; what is important here is what you think and what you want to do about it.  This might be your path to a new and profitable career in the gaming industry.

I wounder if modern day jets still use them at all. (i'm sure)

F-14s had mirrors so the Guy In Front could see if the RIO was puking.  If not it was time to pull the pole harder.  Rivets popping was generally easier to detect and did not require visual aids.

We already have something about as good as a rearview mirror, a direct six view with head positions that can be adjusted VERY generously for max visibility.

IL2 has rearview mirrors. They are too small in normal views to tell you much beyond "There is a con back there somewhere" and DO slow the game down somewhat, at least on my low-end system.

Further, I consider surprise bounces a valid part of simulated air combat, one that is already harder than in reality because of the icons. (Not that I would favor getting rid of icons) If anything, I'd rather they did something to get rid of that "turning your plane engine sounds way down to hear the other guy coming" gamey-dweebery than add mirrors.

Kinda like comparing geometry with trigonometry, put that third dimension in there and things get a little more interesting.
