I upped an sbd for the first time tonight after watching battle 360 and getting into the history mood :D.

WOW what a NICE plane.  Didn't know it could dogfight so well.  Just wish it had a little extra power.  Lack of firepower didn't seem a problem for me either cause I was d200 and slow anyways.

Not, and never well be a 38, but damn damn close.

The SBD is a great plane.  I wish my squad used it more then we do.  But we perfer our Hellcats, unless we are doing a "Historical" flight.  But yes, the SBD is a great turner.  If i remember right, awhile ago on the show "Dogfights" it told the story of an SBD pilot who shot down like 5 zeros or something like that....

Pretty amazing airplane!

If you're patient, the SBD is handy for earning lots of fighter points.  I like to cherry-pick furballs with one occasionally.  Just one kill against a 5-point bird, even if you get shot down, will earn you lots of points.

I would like to run a mission with SBDs someday, but of course nobody wants in on a mission like that in the MAs.

Hey Donkey,

I was shocked at the SBD's abilities when I flew it the first time in the AVA War #1.  She really is a fun bird to fly & dogfight in, but slowwwww.   Enjoy!

About the only thing funnier then having a latewar fighter run from your SBD is to have it run from your Val :)

Hah!  Donkey, stalls and I tried the other night.  We couldn't amass enough damage on each other to kill one another.  We used the tail gun too.

If i recall, me and some friends made a kamikaze mission. It was D3As lol, Sbds, zeros, and if i recall, a TBM. We all attacked a carrier and augered with our bombs and sank it lol. :rofl
