I upped an sbd for the first time tonight after watching battle 360 and getting into the history mood :D.

WOW what a NICE plane.  Didn't know it could dogfight so well.  Just wish it had a little extra power.  Lack of firepower didn't seem a problem for me either cause I was d200 and slow anyways.

Not, and never well be a 38, but damn damn close.

donkey

really? hte only thing i've ever done well in these crates is to die/......rather quickly too. on the other side of it, it's one of the few aircraft i've never had trouble killing......i just get cautious when they level out knowing that i'm boring down on them, as the rear gun on these seems more powerful than bomber guns.

If you're patient, the SBD is handy for earning lots of fighter points.

Ehm... actually you can't. You can either score in attack or in bomber mode, but your air kills don't get you any points when flying in bomber mode.
Perk points earned in SBD are, like with all bomber/attackers, solely bomber perks.

Yes, but no fighter perks/points, as it was falsely stated.  :P

Oops.  Thanks for the clarification, Lusche.  I didn't mean to mislead anyone.

I also enjoy the SBD for becoming a big flying distraction for the enemy.

The SBD is a great plane.  I wish my squad used it more then we do.  But we perfer our Hellcats, unless we are doing a "Historical" flight.  But yes, the SBD is a great turner.  If i remember right, awhile ago on the show "Dogfights" it told the story of an SBD pilot who shot down like 5 zeros or something like that....

Pretty amazing airplane!

(Image removed from quote.)
it was 3 zeros and he changed to fighters after that
