One comment: If you're getting a tax return check, you screwed up your accounting.  :salute
Personally, I broke even (Paying in $25) so I am a perfect accountant.  :angel:

I pay a lady's husband from work to do mine (simply haven't the patience)---he said I owed $11.00----hacked off, I went to Staples, bought Turbo Tax, tried every plausible deduction I could come up with---even with a mortgage and a kid, I couldn't pass the 10,700 standard exemption--so tomorrow I shall mail off my $11 :salute

I consider my refund to be a hedge against the next Democrat administration. 

It is easier to live with a smaller or disappearing annual "refund" than to be tempted into higher monthly spending -- and then having to make cutbacks once taxes increase.

Yes, I am saying I am undisciplined.   :frown:

My brother works for the IRS.  I sent him a copy of the cartoon and I'm sure he will find it funny..in his own dry, quirky sorta way.

Just had the CPA do mine...getting back a bit over $1600 between fed and state.  Time to replace my 5 year old gaming system!

I may be in a bind this Year as my dog does not qualify as a student any longer and my cat has not lived in my house for the most part of 2007.

 I got 807 back this year.New computer arrives today and I will look much to the UPS driver as my dog does when I get home from work.Looking out the door and barely containing himself. :rofl :rofl

Got back $5351 after using TaxCut, then at the urging of a co-worker, I took it to a tax accountant.........they sent in an amended return that will net me another $1863, probably about the same time everyone gets their blanket tax refunds the government is issuing this year.
Said co-worker got back $12,600 in federal, and another $400 in AR state refunds.
Next year I'll itemize it myself from the start......I don't wanna end up on the IRS's radar screen, so I was reluctant to file the amended return.

Paying over $2500 and I didn't change my deductions at all from the year before (claimed exactly what I was supposed to).  My wife and I make enough that we get anything back from our $20,000 spent for daycare anymore. After a new baby in June she is going to give up working and stay at home and take care of the kids. When we do that our taxes will go down significantly, daycare to 0, not to mention the additional benefits like the kids spending more time at home and less in daycare.
