Joining S.A.P.P.

Maybe this is good enough to get into SAPP.

Pilot wounded.....

External view, tried to catch the fire in a screen shot, but no dice on that. The starboard engine was burning fiercely though. :D

A different view showing all the missing pieces parts.

Nahhh. Props are still intact, boom is still together, only 1 engine is beat up, and most of all, you are not inverted/upside down.

Pfft....I actually touched down while passed out from the pilot wound. I was already missing half my starboard wing and even while passed out I managed to break off the other one!

In all probability the "pilot wound" was/is just a Flesh wound. :rofl

You misinterpret.......It was intentional, I'm just that good to be able to do it while passed out.  :devil

Wannabes.

My dad flew the Emerson Nose Turret.  A few years back while he was still living in Arizona (he's still living, but not in Arizona) I was playing golf with him, an F6F instructor pilot (inverted flat spin recovery specialist), and a P38 pilot (pacific theater).

The P38 driver would not drive a car.  He'd had three Lightnings shot out from under him without getting so much as a hangnail, and decided he'd used up his lifetime allotment of luck.  His wife did all the driving.  The guy had more cool stories, and was not the least bit embarrassed to say he was one of the 90% that distracted the enemy long enough for the 10% to shoot them down.

He did spend a fair amount of time in the water waiting for pickup.  One PBY, one submarine ride, and a PT boat lift off a hostile island; not sure which one.

Hey!  That's post war!  It doesn't count, nor should it be modeled, in AH!

Yeah, post war wrecks dont count!

Besides Dan, you've flown with me enough and seen many of my crashes that I should at least be an honorary SAPP member. :D
