Can't see anyone in arenas

Playing earlier this afternoon but was discoed.  Now when I log in, no matter which arena I choose, I seem to be the only one in the arena.
All my radios are tuned to channel 1, and they won't let me change them.    Tried pinging the arenas, looks OK with 1 or 2 dropped packets.

But its wierd - 300 people when I log in, empty by the time I get to the tower.

Tried rebooting the PC; that didn't help.     Tried wating around, looking at net status from inside arena, but was discoed again...

Are you preloading textures and/or skins?  Disable it and see what happens.

I was preloading textures but not skins.   Disabling that did the trick.

Tried preloading both and that works as well.
