Got my Private in '72.  Have accumulated just over 3400 hours since then.  Most "sh*# hot thing I've flown is a Mustang, most fun a B-17 or T-6, most satisfying the B-24.

Joe...  Do you have any idea of the distance you can cover at 140 miles an hour flying in a straight line versus driving a car?  Your choices are greatly improved over driving in case you can't figure that out wise guy...  Also being able to take passengers greatly adds to the fun of flying... kinda like the back seats in cars in case your not sure,... not to mention a few places I know of that you can only get to by plane or boat that have great restaurants and other things to do here in the North East USA..Your comment was neither funny or intelligent.
Also, When did you get you ppl?  That's what this thing is about in case your not sure of that.

Cherokee-180= 4 seats   rv-8= 2 seats   rv-8 much more fun to fly but there's something to be said for 4 seats and baggage room.

Began flying in 1994 at the age of 16, soloed at 17, licensed at 19. Private Pilot rating, bout 40-60 hours instrument, 250 hours or so total time. Ran out of money haven't flown since, 1999 or so.

C-152
C-172
Piper J-3 Cub (started flying in that one)

Fun planes have flown not rated in.

Boeing Stearman
Grob Glider
DeHaviland Twin Otter

It helps with the actual flying of these cartoon planes. Doesn't help at all with Dogfighting or simulated air combat.

Well, since my wife refuses to fly in anything with a prop (she is scared of airliners too,b ut for some reason she feels better in a larger aircraft... *shrug*) I don't get to utilize the 4 seats of the cherokee very often anyway.  So, I figured i might as well build something with a bit more "fun factor".  And, on those rare occasions that I do wind up flying more than 1 passenger, I can always rent a 172, or an archer at the local airport here.  Sure, more expnsive in the long run but, probably close to 90% of my flying is done either alone, or with 1 other person.

Thus... why im leaning towards building the RV8

Cool!  Man, I am envious of you.  Was the B-24 the "passenger" version that the Confederate Airforce has?

On another note...I had a chance to ride in the Kate (a modified T6 I beleive) that the Confederate Airfoce has.  It was one of the planes used in Tora Tora Tora.  I was just along for the ride, no stick time.  We did a few passes over the show at St. Paul, Minnesota in the early 90's.  We also simulated a intercept from a Corsair...That was sweet!

Licensed in 99' I have around 410 hours Flown 172's, 150's, Arrow, 170, PA-28's, Challenger 2, J3, Citabria, and the best by far is my RV7, defiantly the most fun plane I have ever flown, I0-360 A1A with a christen eagle inverted oil system.

I completely understand that point of view sol.  I Know a few guys that can't even get their wives out to the airport to look at the plane.

single engine land... not current as of now. I'm a cherokee guy. Learned in a Grumman AA-1c (N1416R)

No, it was "Dragon and His Tail", the Collings Foundation B-24J.
