A visonary who's seen the change from science fiction to science fact is no more. An undeniable influence in my tender years.

Rest in peace.

He would laugh at that.

No Vulcan, through his stories I read as a child, the wonder and enormity of the universe was set to scale.

My favorite science fiction writer by far.

Childhoods End was a  classic and set the stage for 2001: A Space Odyssey

Rendezvous with Rama

His short stories were perhaps some of the best of his work -- The 9 Billion Names of God --a chilling classic. Too many to list.

RIP

A great mind has been lost. Not only did he provide visionary entertainment but he impacted the world of science and communications. He did much to help make this a better place and we are diminished by his passing. Now he's on his last odyssey.

RIP and Bon Voyage.

Make a note. Do NOT give Tibetan monks any computer equipment.

One of the most amazing sci-fi short stories I have read: http://lucis.net/stuff/clarke/star_clarke.html

He wasn't just another "geek" writer of popular science.

It was but a shadow of his print fiction.

I didn't realise that he had died... RIP!  2001 is one of my favourite films plus I loved his 'Mysterious World' TV series back in the 70s/80s.

Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do. I'm half crazy all for the love of you. It won't be a stylish marriage, I can't afford a carriage. But you'll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two.
