Just more proof that while Houston has to dodge the 'every 10 - 15 year hurricane', year in and year out Dallas has by far more deadly storms than Houston.  Ice storm, flash floods, tornado-spouting thunderstorms, sleet, ice, and hail.  Yep, that's Dallas.

Uno momento, por favor. I seem to remember most of Harris County being underwater several times.

Actually, there are parts of Harris county and surrounding counties that do get high water but the tropical storm Allison event was the first time downtown was underwater.  I'll still take a rising creek over what you guys get.

Pffft, this is nothing compared to what the hill country gets. We just have a bunch of idiots that think cars are amphibious.

Our idiots think their cars walk on water.  Litterally.  80 mph on a highway with a standing half-inch of water.  "Hold my beer, watch this!"

Water is on the rise very fast here at Tawakoni.
I plan on tying the pontoon up to the back doorknob later today. :)

Here in San Antonio we had what I can only describe as a "Dirty Rain"

The wind was blowin hard all day kicking up dust everywhere, then we had rain.  All our cars look like we went mudding in them.  THe car washes today are all packed!

I am Teh Ready. :)
It has risen landwise about 5 ft in the last 2 hours.
There is a small creek that empties into Tawakoni pretty close to the mouth of the Sabine.
It has a small boat ramp that just big enough to put in a shallow draft fishing boat when the lake is at the norm.
From there you go down the creek to the mouth into the lake.
When the spring rains come like this and it and Sabine are out of banks, it is a great place to go. Back off in the sticks on an FM road. At these times every farmer in two counties are congregated their  with their travel trailers, campers, etc. for setting trotlines and jug lines.
You can get SFed there in a hurry. :)
