It depends how you fly.. if you fly straight at it like a 2 week noob it will HO you.

Yep.....AI had several head on shots he could have took and didnt. I never got even a face shot.....but I didnt fly right at him either.

Thats good.  Maybe it will teach people not to fly straight into it.   Doesn't seem to have much accuracy though.  I slowed down to like 200 in a slow turn to see how it responded and it wouldn't get closer then 400-600 and couldn't hit me. Seemed to be at a loss of what to do.  Very good start though. Very nice rolling scissor and avoids well for training flying and gunnery.  Updates page says their will be more downloads in the future.  Thank you HTC.

Yea I agree it did do pretty good in a scissor fight. I let him get behind me to see if I could shake him, ended up getting it into a scissors fight on the water and it was pretty tough at the start. I though he might get me for a second.

On the second flight I again let him get on my 6 when I was a little slow. Went into a dive and he stayed 200 of my 6 in the dive then got him into a vert fight but after that he blew his E and was like a noob trying to climb to me as I BnZed him ..  :rofl

GD wrong account, I'm letting 73 die I just log in as that to check the private squad forum until the admin parts get worked out...

I was going to make a new thread but here is as good as any :aok

first off, I LOVE YOU HiTechCreations Inc. !!!

Great freaking job! I was honestly a bit apprehensive off A.I. when i first hear about it, some older vets talking about it beating them. Myself being a mediocre stick at very best I thought oh sh-- :O what chance does a common guy like me have??

I did 3 fights just now, they weren't the same, but they weren't "different" as the alt, position with the clouds, position on the map, and engagement were all the same, the "warp" freaked me out on the first fight, I was spinning my hat "OMG WHERE IS HE" until I realized I could bring up the clipboard and see the BAR DAR for a general location. By then he was in on me... from about 1000 feet alt at least, 2500 yards away in my 1 o'clock. I put my nose down about 10 degrees for speed, hit WEP and watched him go above and try for angles.

Here's my only rub on this: if you have spent ANY time in the DA you know the "usual" modes of engagement. The lower guy with more speed ends up with the advantage. I don't know what the A.I. was doing per say, but I am guessing not full WEP and NOT playing with flaps. I got above him quick, and with the E just stayed behind him until my piss-poor gunnery took off some parts. The first fight I think I took his rudder, then I ended up chasing a "drone" falling from the bail until I almost collided and augured in the ocean thinking "HE JUST MADE ME OVERSHOOT"!

After I came out of the blackout pull-up I saw the meat bomb hanging there and killed it rightly :devil (NICE Freaking touch HTC guys!)

The other fights were "different" in the maneuvers, possibly because of my change in the initial merge or because the A.I. was doing random stuff. Having read this post at work earlier today I even tried to skim the "HO" bubble on the 3rd merge, nary a shot was fired, and he didn't even put the nose at me. At D800 or so he was already pointing the nose to get an angle on the direction my wing tips were pointed. I had about a 20 degree left roll (left low) and he was pointing up with about 5 degrees of his right low. His pitch up was a LOT less than I would have used with that alt advantage, but I can understand why... in the DA you know they (me in the scenario) can't / won't pull up for that shot as they lose their position badly if they miss, but he is playing "real fighting" basically for life and limb. Me? I'll take the lower, it is a game and if I die I get a fresh fancy new Dora to PWN him in.

I guess what I took from my A.I. fights is the pilot is "safe" and trying to keep himself alive... you take a flier chance at a move knowing you can pull out of that stall or whatever you will beat him. I love it, but at the same time I want him to take more chances. I honestly thought the falling plane he bailed from was a "last ditch" effort to make me overshoot, adrenaline was high, and I thought he just got me.

Overall it is an amazing addition to the game and I can't imagine the time it took to write the A.I. "coad".  If what other players have said in the Combat Tour forum are true and you can "tweak" the ability that is so freaking awesome I can't imagine! What I'd personally love is being able to choose the plane I am in even if the A.I. has to be in a P51... I bet that is coming real soon, or something similar :D

I have to say this, a simple thing like this is such an addition to the game I don't think it is truly fathomed by the player base... No longer will a new guy have to pay to "practice".  We as a community have to understand that there will be more players, and more people needing advanced ACM instructions for "how to beat the A.I.". They will need to learn how to set up view positions, how to judge E states, all that stuff vets take for granted in-game... AND they will be able to ask this on a forum openly without being a paying member!!!

I hope the community is ready for this, I know years ago I did the "ALT-F4" joke on channel 1 back when it was available, and probably posted "**** N00B!" on the forum, somewhat in jest to jive with the community, and somewhat to say "I'm part of the club, you suck because you are not". from this day forth I honestly think the community as a whole has to step it up. I'm not saying I will even spend the time training said "Newbies". I'm a poor pilot, and horrible at explaining what I do while flying. 1/2 the time I am lighting a cigarette in a dog fight, or opening a beer. I just don't berate them, and with the exception of a quake-monger that screams HOWDOIDOTHIS!!!!!! and is a jerk I will from now on not berate in any way a new player. I seldom have, and am more than willing to sometimes work with someone on game mechanics like views, salvo, what have you.

I hope the rest of you 12709 registered users do the same :aok

WTFG HTC!!!! You guys DESERVE a vacation or something!

I just now got done with my first sortie with the AI Pony. What started out as a HO attempt by the AI turned very quickly into a right hand T&B. With a couple notches of flaps and some counteractive rudder, we both steadily spiraled downwards, all the while I was getting the upper hand and killed the AI on the deck.

Im no good in a pony but the Ai is pretty good, but I doesnt take that many shots. It didnt even go for snapshots. I did fly right at it to see if it would Ho and it did. It then ramed me and lost a wing. Mine only shot when he ws dead six and about 500 away.

I'm sure this is just the first taste they are giving us, I'm sure that in the coming patches we will get more A.I planes to fight against other then just the 51.

And yes if you do fly straight at him he will HO you, but why would you do that anyways.

This also tells me that CT is still in the works, and maybe just a little closer to be released. :D

Okay I was fightin' the AI, managed to get on its 6 and was lining up for a beautiful D-200 shot and all of a sudden before I can push the fire button I'm staring at the airfield with some message saying Turn Left Cross. :furious :furious :furious :furious

This has now happened to me 3 times.

Yep, me too.  Also, a couple of times we were pretty much at a draw and then he just disappeared.  I was like  :uhoh I know he's here somewhere...  But he wasn't and my pixels felt safe again... :pray

despite pathetically rusty skills, i still had 2 good enough shot opportunities that it would have died if i had hit, and not stalled into the ocean.

first attempt we collided in scissors..

the 2nd turned into a TNB spiral, at about 1000 ft I finally had a good solution an he just vanished.. poof.. then a few later im back at base "right left cross"

kinda annoying..

I never fly the pony, and would have obliterated the AI in a jug in short order, but I must say.. it put up a better 1v1 fight that alot of "real" p51s in the MA..  at least it doesnt hit the deck and run after the first pass :furious
