CV's and ord
« on: March 19, 2008, 11:32:10 PM »
Has the amount of ord needed to sink a CV been increased? Earlier tonight some squaddies and I upped a gaggle of heavy jugs to go sink a CV. Lots of guns knocked out but she was still afloat. We the upped some heavy 51's for 2nd wave. Again, lots of guns out but the CV sailed on. After several sorties of B25's, JU88's, and more heavy 51's we had to start looking for a kitchen sink to drop on it. Finally, 4 of us upped B24's to make the CV just go away. We sank it but that CV still absorbed a lot of hits before it went down.

Oh, the new auto ack for the CV group is brutal! No real need for manned guns any longer.

I jumped in a twin 5 inch tonight when I logged in and I tell ya.They seem like they hit better.I saw where they hit a wider area but do the same damage.I had 7 kills in about 5 minutes.Sure seems like the CV ack got tougher.Good thing.Might blast the lancstukas out of the air before they can auger in.

If this is the case, i'm glad....seemed kinda easy to sink a cv group with a single bomber formation

Well I noticed we have a new kind of gun. We had hard guns and soft guns. Now we have Armored guns.
Which are I believe the big 5" & 8" guns.  Very happy over all with the ships facelift and new guns.
And I LOVE the bridge view looking forward.

The new view is pretty good but I'd still like to be able to watch the spawn point and be able to see a damaged squaddie come in.

You also get a nice view by going to the O'Club while aboard the boat.

Damage has not changed for CVs; 8,000 lbs, will destroy them.

Nope can't say that I have.  But I'll check it out later.  Thanks

And the O'club view as well.

They hit a wider area but do less damage.

They hit a wider area but do less damage.

Which should make them a little more realistic.
