P-39
« on: March 20, 2008, 02:15:22 AM »
Before I put this in the Bug forum, I want to make sure I'm not the only one. When flying the P-39, if you dove and did a slight turn or pulled up slightly, did anyone instantly black out? Not too sure if it was just me.  :salute

Just you, i law darted my 39 at 480+mph all last night, pulled out every time, no blackouts and no lost parts.
yeah she can dive like a rock, but youll loose 50mph just geting the nose above the horizon, after that the E falls off sharply.

Start with 300mph, 500 mph dive from 10k and only end up with 5k-7k and 130mph to show for it.
Odd, but workable.

Well, 1sum pulled too hard up on his, but I always ease mine out of a dive. I can do the same thing in a (lets say 1 of these) F6F-5 or a F4U-1d and nothing would happen. But I want to make sure I'm not the only person. Even when I do agile turns at high speed, I black out almost instantly. Oh and on my 2nd sortie in a P-39 I landed 3 kills. You just got to be a good shot to be good in it.
