WWM, you probably changed something else by accident...I've had the same thing once or twice before.

Rattfink, I've gotten as some points 3/4 wingmen and 8 enemies...a bit glitchy, but completely playable :).  If you look earlier in this thread, I think I've posted some links to those missions.  Or you could just wait for the Mission editor that Pyro promised earlier in this thread (but this is a good time filler).

I had a 16 vs 16 fight, and that's where I figured out the collision issue/crashed the game a few times. Without sufficient spread of the AI clones, some bad things can happen. At the very best, I had single digit framerates, errant killed by SERVER messages, taking hits without an enemy anywhere near me, and half the clones killshot each other. At the very best, I had all of the above, except only 4 clones killshot each other, and the rest scattered as the AI flight (half of whom also killshot each other) closed in, after which everything worked well.

How did you get 16 vs 16?  Whenever I do that something bad invariably happens like one flight of planes never appears, or blows up half way down the runway etc?

Also, you should try the things kotrenin worked out about coordinates, he posted those earlier in the thread.

Just changed the wingman/AI numbers in the flight lines. Things get a little ugly during takeoff (when the collision detection creates the streams of smoke), but once they scatter and get in the air, everything is fine until the jump point, after which all AI planes are in the same position, creating all of the other problems.

Did a little more tinkering, and got some "invalid" messages, returned things to more manageable numbers, and then quit messing with it, and probably won't do any more tinkering until we get the editor.

Just out of curiousity - has anybody tried slide a GV number into the system? I expect the mission would crash, but if it didnt and you could have the sucker's waypoints get you away from the ack, would be really cool to practice gunning while enemies tried to strafe you!

Well...I sat on the runway in an osti, but I think warping had borken(sic) by then.  I REALLY wanted to get a pilot warped into the fight, but never got around to that either.

All in all, a pair of osties dropping from the sky in exactly the way Vogon Constructor Fleets don't would be a riot.

Yea...I think it should work...I think hub mentioned earlier he accidentally spawned a PT boat onto a runway lol.

Also, copying the entire waypoints thing from lets say "East to West" into "West to East", that should work, but then there'd be your own ack to deal with, unless you took that down before hand.

Copy East to west then change all way points to original.  on second east to west do same then change country numbers,  and adjust vehicle line coordinates to offset enemy by several thousand feet.  Also remember to erase west to east.

Never mind, that didn't work.  Kept crashing.

I do believe HTC has separate AI for bombers and GV's, they would behave differently from the fighters, with different goals.

i made a mission with 8 B26s to practice my buff hunting..

instead of acting bomberish, they tried to dogfight.

I tried a 262 mission with 25 B17s on my side and 10 nme 262s. The bombers and I waited, but the 262s never showed up. I shot my b17s in anger and ended sortie  :)

I went back and used the original and it still crashes the game. When I select it and click OK the screen goes blank and then goes white. Then the game sits there a minute and finally pops up a windows "Don't Send" message. None of my other missions do this. The B17 versus 3 109Fs is fun. :)
