im not a very avid bomber but i think the 234 should get more attention in the ma a couple of reasons for thsi are
1. fast about 410 at 5000 feet fully loaded almost nothing except possibly la-7(havent checked exact speed)can catch you with natural power
2.carries enough bombs to destroy hangers
3.it can bomb from a distance away and turn to avoid ack in fact from 5000 feet at 410 you can bomb from 2001 feet away i figured that useing a rough calculation might be 100 feet or so shorter so if you went to 10000 feet you could drop from oh say 3800 feet away from base
4.RATO is you keep them they are great to help acceleration which is crappy in 234 in the amount of time the RATO tubes fire you can accelerate from 200 to 325
5. also if you take the back firing wing cannons you can possibly keep at a standoff distance from the enemy until they run out of energy to keep up
6. 3 500k bombs eguals 3206lbs
7.these things in a group could completely take out a field making it impossible to operate from a 4 plane group could go like this planes 1-3 take out fighter hangers fighter 4 if it carries enough bombs to take out radar and ords(im not sure if it carries enough bombs

the only disadvantages i see are its perked, smaller bomb load but not 1500 lbs like most people think, and lack of armament which speed completely makes up for

these are my ideas feel free to add or point out advantages or disadvanteges to this under used plane

If it was unperked you would see it everywhere. I love flying it, mainly for GV bombing and CV killing. After I drop my bomb load I usually get slow and dogfight for 5 minutes to snag a kill or 2 before heading home.

Ive done it before went head on with zero at co alt. I dive straight under him to avoid HO right after I do this ill shoot the...well as zoozoo would say the butt guns :D and hit him. I was able to put him smoking and then he turned onto my 6. At that point I was about 1k and he wasnt gaining. I run till hes about 5k out then I turn back into him. At this point we are still co alt and hes still following me. When he gets within 2k of me hes at my 12 0 clk I start a stepp climb he follows he stalls a few sec before me..classic rope. But now the problem is I have no foward firing guns. I dive straight down into him and at the last sec i pull left and my wingtip smacks into his stalled out plane. I take no damage, though I did hear a loud noice upon impact. He however exploded as my wingtip hit him dead center.

I don't get why you even typed that, you know it's stupid.

Get it slow enough to turn, keep RATOs, get good at the arse guns, etc.

I love my Ar234.

Its great at putting some serious hurt on a CV.  I come in at 5k, 60% throttle...synch the bomb site (a true challenge at that speed)...hope to God you have a lame 5" gunner and drop the bombs.  Throttle to 100% and do an immediate pitch away to escape the ack.

Its also great fun for spotting GVs for your GV teamates.  Some of my best flights are serving as a forward air controller   :)

For dogfighting, you better keep the speed up!  I get a great chuckle helping a teamate out and diving on on a con's six.  They hear the jet engine and assume is a 262.  I've seen two or three pull such extreme manuevers that they break a wing or something!

I wish it wasn't perked, I'd really like to see more of them flying.  I never take them up in formation, I've lost drones on takeoff and that's a heck of a point hit.

I fly them often... What the heck else is there to spend those thousands of bomber perks on... [whispers "B-29"]... The drones are a problem. ANY manuvering will cause the to go <Poof>. Make gentle turns, stay high and fast and you will land 'em all. Make sure that you've got O2!

32K at 350 IAS over a HQs will cause a most pleasant reaction from the opposition!

I'm with ya there! I NEVER take up a formation, it is worthless, you spend more time on the turns than you do in the fight...

One of the best uses is to get 1-2 people using single 234's as CV finders - you can cover big search patterns in a relatively short amount of time, and use the outside view to spot those sneaky CVs before they get to their objective location.

And if you take a formation, don't get cute and try a screen shot.  The lag at speed caused my drones to go boom once..

Ouch..

I had that once...me in a 234 vs. a 262...I won, though it was a 5 minute fight.
