Best ending to a movie with a song...
« on: March 21, 2008, 07:12:08 PM »
You know the scene: end of the movie, emotional moment, whatever; and a song is playing in the background that just fits the moment so well there is no other song that could play in it's place...

Most here won't remember the scene but this is all I have to start the thread:

End of the movie Reality Bites U2 "All I Want is You" plays.

just the song not a clip from the movie

It is quite good and fits so well I can't think of another song that could be better.

Got another?

Not that these are the best, but there are a couple that stick with me for some reason:

The Eels - Mr E's Beautiful Blues at the end of Road Trip
Elliott Smith - Miss Misery from the closing credits of Good Will Hunting

(think it was during the credits)

Movie - The Warriors

Song - In the City

Another memorable one for me was Simple Minds with "Don't you forget about me" at the end of "The Breakfast Club"
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Ballad of Thunder Road - Robert Mitchum from the movie Thunder Road.
Wow, great old school call on that one! I just watched Thunder Road again a couple days ago. Mitchum was the shizz.

How about: Jailhouse Rock- Cast and crew The Blues Brothers
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.
