System performance question
« on: March 21, 2008, 09:17:09 PM »
I know this should be posted on the hardware forum, but I figured I would get quicker, and more, responses here.   How important and beneficial would it be for me to go from 768RAM to 2Gig RAM for this game?  Would this have a significant impact on performance?  I have a 256 MG graphic card as well... I am just considering spending the almost $200 for basic memory, and would appreciate your feedback if you think or know this would be worth it.

Thanks!

Ram is NEVER a bad choice. what you have is enough to run XP, if only just enough. Its not enough to run vista. The preload textures AND skins in the game now takes about 4 megs of ram. So what do you think ?   :D

$200 for 2 GB seems a little high to me. (depends on what kind of memory your system needs)

Yeah, what the heck! that is steep. Is it Rambus? Sounds like Dell. If not visit, visit Newegg.com or Mwave.com. Oh yeah, bigtime performance increase.

BTW, they anwser quite fast in the Hardware and Software forum. In fact they live for it. Frankly it's my favorite forum.

Another thought, if it is rambus and if it is that old of a Dell, get a new computer.

I suspect 2G is just about the minimum anymore for virtually anything.
