I'm not sying making a WW1 sim. It would be interesting. I just pointed out there seems to be no real combat sims out there other than WWII. I would like to see Korean, 'Nam, or WWI sim but they just aren't there. Something else that would be interesting. A hypothetical 1946 sim. All sides have their jets plut things like GO292s.

if you dont mind going back to DOS games, the old Red Baron game is a good WW1 sim.  IL2 1946 for the hypothetical 1946 game.  Janes USAF has some vietnam to it.  korea is harder, but basically just WW2 with jets.  modern stuff in USAF as well.  note that these arent online, but i dont recall seeing that as a requirement.

I'm twice as good at spelling and grammar as you might think, mister!  :lol

I say, we should add the Polish cavalry to the game instead of making a modernized version!

But IMHO, I'd love to fly an F-16 in Aces High.

And the F15 would be awesome!

uhh... that's an F-14

oh and EvlPrsn, we would play ww1 games IF THEY HAD ANY!! Ive never played a ww1 game in my life. Nor a Korean War jet game. (But there still is Fighter Ace 3 i think)

There was a Korean war flight sim called Mig Alley Ace. Made by Microprose I think. I played it on an Atari 800 home computer about 1983. Graphics of course sucked but game play was adequet. No way would I go back and play it now or mid 80's Red Barron.

all of this is rediculous.  WW2 combat is y we are all here.  if you want to fly jets, go play a different game.  want WW1 planes?  go play other games.  its hard enuff for HTC to keep this one going as well as it is, the last thing we need is to go from 1 well supported game to 2 poorly supported games.  not to mention WW2 was the peak of areal combat, so its an obvious choice to make the best game.

I vote for WW1. Anyone notice there are no real combat sims for anything older than WW2?
Just think mustard gas, poor quality weapons, no bail outs(they didn't have 'chutes),rampant disease...

I do think they should expand outside WWII, either do WWI or Korea, or both! ;)

I remember AW had just three jets:  The 262, The Sabre and The Mig.  Sabres and Migs used to go on jet night.  It was fun to fly those old mig alley styled missions.  Launch, climb to 30k sweep for the enemy and hope you had gas left to fight with when you find'em.  Yeah, I could do that Yalloo (sp?) River run again...
R2, did we just blow up a gas station?
