Total Freeze

Getting total freezes since the last update. All the sudden AH just stops responing, the screen and picture freezes as is, I can still hear the sound. If I alt tab the sound goes away but I can't see anything else, I can't alt tab to another program or press ctrl alt del to open program mannager. Only thing I can do is to hit the reset key on the computer. It's happaned about 6 times now in two days, first time I encountered it I engaged a P51. This last time I also engaged a P51 but I don't think it has anything to do with that, just mentioning it.

Running an AMD 64x2 4800+, 2gb 800mhz RAM, Nvidia Geforce 8600.

I also have some problems with stuttering when firing guns but that was there before the update.

Will see if I can update my video card drivers, any other recomendations? It's getting more then just a little anoying.

Oh, running with a widescreen so my resolution is set to 1680x1050, 1024 textures and the high res pack. I just set the textures to 512 instead but I haven't had time to test it yet.

Just a shot in the dark Wilbus, but if you're running Vista, I doubt if 2 Gig of ram is enough for HiRes.

Vista was a let-down. I get between 0 and 50 FR depending on the map and amount of fire and smoke and planes around me. I now have three times the processor and twice the ram as my old machine and the OS gets in the way of my performance? Microsoft didn't know better? On a good note ... the fleet is mahvelous! Low FR or not, I'm hooked, I tell ya, hooked. It's a joke, son. Carrier. Hooked.

I've got almost the exact same setup and having the same problem, about once a night. Guns don't shudder, but game locks up tighter than a drum.

Would like to see a DXDIAG output for this one as well as the in-game video settings and any specific video card features that you have forced on )AA, AF...), if any.

Having the same problem. ONce a night it just locks up in mid view/flight. Shows me an empty blue sky. Always happens in flight. On the other hand. I am getting more sleep lately as I get frustrated and go to bed. Wife thinks I like her again
