Whiplash, anyone?
« on: March 22, 2008, 04:04:48 PM »
Well, let's get started  :aok

When in Offline (gonna get my subscription back up and running soon), I notice that whenever I push my hat switch, my pilot looks that way. DOH! But, when I stop pushing it in the direction I want to see, my pilot always looks out of the left wing. I've recalibrated, restarted my comp, and redid my controller configurations.

What next?  :frown:

Just tried it, didn't work. I went into ext. view and hit F8, it was like the hat switch was constantly being pushed left.

I push UP on it, it looks front left (when in normal view mode, not F8). I can't look to the right at all, either.

Thats a bug thats been around forever. I still don't get how it occurs (think it has something to do with saving a head position when outside that positions FOV). The fix I found was......umm lemme think......
in your case press the look left key (its num6 on my setup) and hit Home. Then release all controls and hit Home  again. That should return you to default views. Then readjust and hit F10.

Hope this helps. :pray :aok

Sorry, no help   :P Thanks for trying though, gents.

What I'm thinking right now is that the game isn't recognizing some of my controller buttons. I can't look to the right, right front, and right back. I also can't shoot all my guns at the same time with my trigger, but I can shoot them separately with the two buttons I have for primary fire and secondary fire.

The reason you cant turn in those directions is because you cant look fwd and backward. In your case the game thinks forward is left so no looking backward = right.
Is this for all planes or only a specific one? I bet this started when you were trying to adjust a view. If this i just in a particular plane then you might try deleting the ###.hps file of the affected plane.

Damn still cant remember how I fixed it when it happened to me.

Are you using an outside software to set your switches/buttons on your stick? CH Manager, or what ever the Saitek one is?

If you are, to set a button on, and a button off for each, otherwise it just does the button on and your stuck looking out your ear  :)

Double check your stick setting in windows to see if it all works there. If so, move on to the game. With the "stick mapping" screen open each push of a button will show you what it is assigned to.

Works temporarily, then when I go to look around again it keeps doing that. I don't use any outside programs. It's on all planes.

My hat switch is a little cone on the top of my joystick. It goes in all the directions of the compass. And no, it's not stuck.

What my joystick looks like, but mine doesn't have the little black chunk sticking out it's arse. Grey piece on the top is what I use for front, back, ect. ect. I use my keyboard as rudders, trim, and all those goodies. And it IS wired.

You mean with the key pad? It works fine with the key pad. I think its my joystick, but I don't know why.

Does not work for me.  :(

Again, when I go into F8 view, it constantly turns left as if my left hat switch was being pressed.

try the tab or caps lock key. I have the same issue sometimes in the MA and I hit one of all the keys down that side, It's always at a time that I'm unable to look at the keys I'm hitting as I'm looking all over the show for the guy I've lost.

You may want to try hitting your "home" key then F10. Hope this helps.
