Russian Bomber/Italian Bomber
« on: March 22, 2008, 10:15:37 PM »
An idea for bombers for Russia and Italy. For Russia, it can be PE-8 which is my #1 choice, TU-2, DB-3, IL-4, something like that. For the Italians, the S.M. 79 is my #1 choice, SM 95, SM 82, SM 81, something like that. Just an idea for bombers for the countries in the game that dont have bombers right now. Either bomber for both countries will due.   I just want one for these countries!!  :D

I think red bombers and RA bombers would be a great idea, however I suspect thsi thread to draw out alot of "be we need the uber planes only" type responses.

Agreed. I pretty much echoed the same "uber plane" thought in another thread.

Italian bombers should be..... P.108, Br.20 and the Cant Z. 1107. <-- heavy bombers, P.108 carried 7k bombs and was faster then B-17 at high alt. also first plane to have radar controlled guns.

S.M. 79 was a torpedo bomber and it carried very few bombs.

Pe-8 is uber plane :) But i'll prefer IL-4 (btw, it could carry 2 torpedos as well).

Pe-8 is pretty much the Russian copy of the b-17, it a heavy weight and can carry a mouth full, i've  fought against one in 1L2 sturmovik and there a tank to take on, it would be a good addition. But we gotta get a  german bomber first. or update the ju-88 plz

Finding reliable online information for any of these planes is tough and most books aren't any better, especially in English. For instance, try eliminating all plastic modeling websites and find pictures for skins of these planes. There are less then half a dozen worthy pictures of the RA's Piaggio P.108, everything else is a copy of the original posts.
Easy in-game again.

Less than 1000 Pe-8s were built.

Maybe it would be a better idea to get something representative?  Maybe a Pe-2, or which more than 10,000 were built.  Hmmm?

Only 167 P.108s and they were never used with the same tactics the 8th AF used. Doesn't mean they're not wanted.
Easy in-game again.

Less than 100, actually (93).

I believe when we had the vote, HT said all the planes that were choices are on the list of planes they will eventually do.  So we will get the Pe-2 in time.  But I wouldn't mind sooner rather than later :).
