Classic Mission AAR
« on: March 25, 2008, 03:18:52 AM »
Tonight I log in and find my friends in 80th FS Headhunters posting a mission.

I check the planes in the mission and see Vals and C-47's. I select a Val.

Once the mission launches I make sure my torpedo is armed and ready and follow the Headhunters and their guests off to the enemy base. Along the way we lost a couple Vals, one tried to go swimming and I think another kill shootered with the rear gun.

Once we arrive at the enemy base I hurriedly drop my torpedo on those evil bish civilians in the town, taking great care to make sure I am less than 200 ft and less than 200 IAS. As soon as I release my torpedo I turn to dogfight the numerous bish that are taking off in fighters to ruin our poor mission.

Meanwhile, Karaya who is flying a goon dropped GV supplies for the Bish gv's. (We'd hate to see their Osties and Wirblies run out of ammo now wouldn't we?)

All of our Val's and C-47's are shot down in short order by those evil bish that upped fighters to intercept us.

I know, it was a goofy mission but we had a riot!

In the end you should be thankful for those players like us who switch to try and help keep things even because our willingness to do so, helps a more selfish, I want it my way player, get to fly his latewar uber ride.

The only reason you guys were shot down is that SPIES infiltrated your ranks.  Anyone who disagrees is a spy himself and should be SHOT.

Obviously it was Karaya since he was the goon driver.  He HAS to be the spy.  This is proof.  Someone post a screenie.

The reason the mission failed is that they put torpedos on dive bombers  :D

Most likely your missions failed because someone changed the town's course after you dropped the torpedos.

Seriously, I'll be the defenders were kill-shooting themselves trying to get to Vals and C47s.

Who says the mission failed.... I think everyone was laughing so hard on the way over that a couple of pilots peed their pants. Mission accomplished...  :aok

We were having a hard time talking because we were laughing so hard, yet as seriously as possible we were explaining what alt and speed to drop torps on town. We were telling the guys to be sure and take out the larger buidings first as tall building were a threat.  I'm pretty sure that the defenders upping did not account for all loses as I heard multiple demands that trees should be perked.   <S>

My torpedo malfunctioned, it fell in the ocean somewhere along the way.  I think my rear gun was firing paintballs too, because I unloaded the whole thing into deliriums c47 pilot and didn't die.  So I took on the other great unarmed assailant of the MAs, teh TREES.  PERK THE TREES!!!  SERIOUSLLY  !!!111one1

I flew in a Val fighter sweep that Raptor posted once. With 7 Vals, we wiped out 3 formations of lamecasters, and 2 goons. Comedy bronze!

I logged on just after the mission left.  I leaped into my Val of doom, and raced after the pack.  Couldn't get my gear up for some reason and got rid of the big heavy thing that was hanging underneath to get down to fighting  weight.  Of course the giggles were plenty and I managed to arrive shortly after everyone was down.  I raced into the fight with a Ki-84, Spit 16 and a N1K.  I promptly got HO'd by the Ki-84 that also was going too fast and rammed me.  The parts of my Val of doom (mine) drifted down to the water along with the sounds of my laughter.

Good fun :)

I did feel sorry for the numbers guy though, who a couple minutes later asked where the mission had gone as he was halfway their with troops :)
