Let's not!  Desktops are the only way to go when gaming.

It will play okay, like most laptops that have Vista installed, but not as good as it could.  They are using the mobile version of the NVidia parts, which are geared more towards saving power.  Sometimes newer is not neccessarily better.

Older laptops with parts that could not shut down parts of themselves to save power avtually play games better than newer generation laptops do.

Desktops are still the best gaming platforms.  If for no other reason than you can actually update drivers easier and change hardware easier.

Depends on how big of a hammer you have.

Seriously, the marketing of these products is just that.  All show and no go.  I have yet to lay my hands on a laptop that would come close to the performance levels of lesser desktop hardware.  Which is fine.  Laptops are not supposed to be about performance.

I deal with laptop performance issues everyday.  And Vista has brought a new level of low performance to laptops as well.  Vista's insatiable thirst for power to run its bloat is killing the battery life of laptops, requiring OEM's to sink to new levels of hardware control to keep the battery life up a little more.
