That was put in place to accommodate all the squeakers. They get in trouble reading more than few words at the time....

Counts for Subject text only.

You just have to keep the subject text of your thread under 80 characters, which is about.. 6-8 words?

You type your reply in the big white box under the smilies....not in the one line box next to Subject:

If you reply to someone else's thread, it adds Re: which may bump it past the 80 limit. You can edit the subject line if that happens.

I think I know what hes talking about here, it just happened to me.

I replied to a thread with a long title and the little "RE:" it adds put the title over 80. Simple soultion, delete part of the title.
