Swithching from a MS Sidewinder 3D Pro to a Saitek ST-290.  I just built a new computer and it only has USB ports and none of the decent soundcards have gameports anymore either.  Since I'm left handed I was stuck with the choice of the ST-290, the Evo wireless (didn't want ot have to change batteries all the time), the Evo Force (read a lot of bad reviews about it sticking) or the Aviator (didn't look like it had enough buttons).  And to top it off none of the gameport to usb adapters work with the Sidewinders (or more accurately, the ones that do only work with very specific models, none of which are the 3D Pro).

I'm bummed.

What stick?

Wrong questions ask you, Jedi.

1: When do you fly?

2: Where?

3: What chesspiece?

4: And your favorite ride is?

If your into spending the cash  badboy will convert CH sticks to "left handed".  Check his sig.  I think it links to his site which illustrate the act in progress.

I've had the ST290 for about 4 years, the first thing to go for me was the throttle...after I got past 1/2 throttle, it would slowly start going down on its own...

Hey BaldEagl

I had the same issue when I built this machine. I had run a MS Sidewinder 3D since way way back... I went with the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro..... It is almost the exact stick IMO... plus for a McGyver like me its CHEAP !!

Good Luck bro...

Later,
KayBay

If your old stick still works fine and you wish to keep using it try a converter.

the AV8R has a total of 12 buttons whats not enough with that. plus you have two diffrent modes so that gives you 24 buttons on one joystick to program.  :D i have one and i think they are great sticks
