Black out window
« on: March 27, 2008, 05:48:15 PM »
Hey all, I just re-joined A/H and need a little help w/ vid settings.  I just loaded some drivers for my video card (radeon 9800 pro). I know, I know, not the greatest card for the game but such is life. After the up-load; when I'm in a tite G turn, the blackout window comes on all at once or has a few lines in it instead of a steady decrease in view area. (depends on the aircraft).

Anyone have an idea what to adjust to fix it??

   Thanx in advance!

Same thing happens to me when I change vid settings, after you set them restart AH and it should work fine.

If that ain't it you'll have to wait for someone that knows what hes doing to come in here :)

Which drivers are you using? I think its the 4.12 that work the best for that card. That card was what I used till I upgraded recently.

I've had something similar; whenever I'm blacking out (probably redding out as well, but I'm not sure), there's a one pixel line which doesn't black out at the edge of my screen.  I think it's only along the top edge and the left edge, and I can see a 'normal' view through this.

I've never had this before
Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?
Apparently I'm in the 20th FG 'Loco Busters', or so the legend goes.

All right, the re-log trick worked great w/out changing any settings. Thank you!!

I'm running the latest Omega driver and it 's workin' o.k.  Were you running ATI, DNA or Omega??  Right now the f/r dips into the 20's in a furball.

The only driver which cures that prolem, for the ATI 9000 series is the Catalyst 4.12 drivers.

I will be glad when they finally stop selling those products.
