WHy isnt it possible to have a fair in the Da?

This guy try's to tell me how a co-alt alt merge means he can dive, or climb into a merge, and after being spanked twice sais I have no idea how the DA works.

Granted on the 1st merge in and f4u he won, but only through diving into the fight.
Afterwards im faced with his repeated rantings on the subject as he was subjected to my gunz on several off-angle Ho pasess, and one 6 oclock kill shot.
My point is this:stop complaining, you agree to rules stick to them, and if you die trying to break them ,im all the more the better pilot, I personaly dont care what edited vid he comes up with...popysed ended up witht the most killz, and he found himself on the loser end of gunz most of the time.

im asking you now if you want too see the film... and BTW the standard merge in the DA isint going 5 k above your enemy. its same alt, and yes most people do dive on the merge.

Bragging Right Rules


One-versus-One Standard Bout Rules:

• If you challenge someone, he has the choice of the first round plane set.
• The fuel will be 25% unless otherwise stated as being a handicap for a particular contestant.
• If someone loses a wing, tail, or engine, the round is over.
• Only two guys to a dog fight.
• Only one dog fight at a time.
• The winner of a round has the choice of the next plane set.
• Both contestants must get a fresh plane before the next round.
• The bout winner will be best out of five rounds.
• Rounds must start Co Alt and Co E before the initial merge.  This means no going above the agreed altitude before the initial merge in order to gain more E then your opponent, but you may dive under your opponent once you are in icon range.
• No Head-Ons on the initial merge.
• No rams.
• If you get more then 2K from your opponent while your plane’s nose is pointed away from him, you lose that round.  If both contestants are nose away, that round is forfeit.  This includes altitude.
• Any modifications of the Standard Bout Rules must be noted in text upon take-off of the first round, and both contestants must agree in text before the initial merge of the first round.  This includes any fuel handicaps.

its not that,  in this game is making friends on all sides not just your own.
becoming apart of something in the fight means alot,  respect means alot.  be a team player.  for the time ive played i dont know if i have any respect at all but ill try as i can to gain all i can,  its not about stats and kills  to me anyway.

for 5 years the "general" consensus rules for duels in the DA are pretty much what Xargos posted.  When you are in icon range, you can merge above or below the fella, it's your choice and has no advantage or disadvantage aboutit.  If you both started same alt same e when icons first appear, it's all on an even platter.

usually, when I go to the DA with someone, I follow what KOTH does. we star at 6K, dive down on icon range, and begin my first merge pretty much on the deck.
From there we usually don't get past 6K.
Thats just how I do it.
