Turning off mic talk back through speakers
« on: March 30, 2008, 10:37:38 AM »
I know you can do this but for the life of me can't remember how to do it. When i transmit it comes through my desktop speakers. I can't stand to wear a headset and play. I am running vista and useing a soundblaster extreme gamer sound card.

That's not it. I want to be able to use my mic still and hear sounds out of my speakers, just not me talking back through it everytime i transmit. By doing what you suggested it turns off the desktop speakers/mic that's not what i need.

works for me when I check the mute box for the mic... mic still works but no echo of me/ or feed back of my voice thru the speakers.....

Make sure you mute it in the PLAY control, don't uncheck it in the RECORD control.

Make sure that ingame on the vox channel you don't have your name selected.
