If you do start skinning it, I think you should remove the swastika on the tail for our German players.

Thats a requirement of AH skinning, so, of course. BTW: out of boredom, im already started. I just need an idea of upper-wing cammo on Bf-109F-2s, and some weathering, and ill be done.

109 upper wingcamouflage from that period would have been the standard 'splinter pattern' as I call it... the angular in/out cuts. Since theres really no way of knowing what it actually looked like without a picture of the upper wings, I just like to have fun with them. As long as it looks realistic.

What colors did you use on the fuselage? It should be RLM74/75 upper surfaces with 74/75/70/02 (I beleive?) mottling and RLM76 lower surfaces.

Heres an example if you want. A Bf.109G4 is shown but it doesnt matter.

Well, I had what I beleive to be a stroke of genius, and simply copied the upper-wing and upper-tail cammo of the default F2. As for colors, those didnt look right. I used 81 and 82 I beleive for the green and brown, and the matching underside (I dont recall the number, but simmerspainshop said it was used as the underside of aircraft with 81/82 upper cammo.). Ill post pics shortly.

Looking at it again, it should probably be RLM 70/71/65. Maybe 02 mottling.

The swatches simmerspainshop has look to be entirely the wrong shade. Heres what I have right now, fortunately it would take about 30 seconds to change it, but heres what I have now.

Heres 71/70. I tried for about the same angles. Notice unlike the profile, which is brown and green, this is shades of grey.

That looks about right. The names of the colors are 'Black-Green' and 'Dark Green' after all.
BTW, in gimp at least, if you fill in a color and the color comes to an end, the bucket fill ends. You shouldnt need the lines, I dont think.

Check this site out. Its very informational.

Some more profiles for examples of the colors.

Those are the correct colors for the time period. And the pattern of the profile is correct. Keep in mind that that color profile had to be interperated from a black & white photograph. Its not uncommon for the colors in a profile to be off.
