German tank site

http://www.achtungpanzer.com
I posted this on our squad website and the guys really thought it was a good read. Lot's of info on german tanks, photo's, and bio's of some of there greatest tank commanders. I can't say as to the accuracy of all the info but still worth the read.

Think i was looking for tank destroyers when i found that site. Some of the info on there about them was pretty new to me. I'm not sure we would need them in the game and i'd probably never use one with the way the maps are laid out now. The panther would be an interesting addition though. The write ups on the wirblewind and ostwind were also really interesting. :aok

It is a great site but needs to be updated once in awhile. All the info is rather old and not much new has been added. Anither great Graman military site id Feldgrau, any search engine would find it. The site is very comprehensive and is very well researched.

That's true, it'd need some update. A great Wehrmacht site would be this one:

Lexikon der Wehrmacht

Too bad it's in German only.

That's always been a great site. Did you notice in the write-up how few Osties and WW's were actually built.

I also found this rather intriguing:
"20mm Flak proved to be less effective than 37mm Flak and was eventually replaced by it."

Probably because the pilots of the day had more sense than we do and maintained a reasonable "floor" over enemy fields ;)
"Think of Tetris as a metaphor for life:  You spend all your time trying to find a place for your long thin piece, then when you finally do, everything you've built disappears"

Well, they had only one life to waste! :D

Read Clostermann's book, and you'll get a perfect picture of what it was like to dive into flak.
