Yep, they are both pretty tough to kill. I have had them at least once a piece in AvA. :D

Sir, I am a little confused by your technique. Are you saying that you dive and extend to create space, like a split "S"? Or are you bleeding away your "E" after the merge, during a climb up to reengage? The latter not being a good option, unless you know the plane your flying is a better "E" fighter than the one you just merged with. Still leaving your opponent with the advantage of altitude. Please elaborate on your thoughts more...

Cheers :aok

Toughest kill I had was a seafire, but I was flying an A-20.
I ended up getting my elevator shot off, so the only was I could control my altitude was flaps and playing with the throttle, he finally ran out of ammo and ended up trying to ram me to drive me down.  :D

that chase when on for about 15 minutes, till i scored enough hits with the rear gun turret to flame him. I'm actully surprised he didn't get me in the first pass.

AckAck I use this method if I am turn fighting someone and they go up when I know I cant follow. When they come back down I do a lag roll and usually have enough to go back up or make them turn. Of course this is with a P-51B and I am full flaps to the wind. So I understand what he is saying and it works when the the plane your in needs speed to fly well. Tho if I have E I wont typically dive away unless its a hurricane or some other type of plane that doesnt turn well at high speed.

Karma.....wing tips represent a very small portion of the plane. While yes a single 20mm can take a tip off its still a poor target. I always aim for the cockpit as it represents the largest target and is also a easy kill. If you miss the wing tip you are shooting air while the cockpit has parts in all 4 directions. If a target shows me a top view I aim for center mass or a wing root. Even when shooting at buffs this still is the best avenue. Wingroot produces flame and center mass gets a pilot kill. Not only that I want to see you take a wingtip off a 152. Even if your target is not maneuvering Id still go for a kill shot and not a disabling one. I have film of me turn fighting Doom in his 190 while only having a partial wing. Gave him a good fight to!!

Hardest kill for me in a poni.....F6F....good plane that mainly good pilots fly. They eat me alive when turning and are a bastard to make over shoot.

Learn to aim for every targets weak spot, the wing tips.It doesnt matter what you are shooting at, ALWAYS aim for the wing tips. Not a single bird in this game is combatable after loosing its wing tip, some are better than others, but for the most part they just fly in circles like a lame duck. Wing tips..wing tips..wing tips.

Nothing else matters, not what you fly, and not what your target is.
If it has wings a engine and at least two gun's, you can make wing tiping a valuable option.

As far as any one plane giving me a problem, none.
I die because i allow the other pilot to use the planes abilitys to its advantage

If they go high, i go low, and meet them right back in the middle, they nose up and try to run away, i nose down and get more distance, the higher he climbs, the lower i go, just the more time it takes for him to DIVE back down on me.

Funny but I find hitting the pilot works better, that way if I miss I can pop the engine, the tail or either wingtip... :aok

Screen freeze

I never know when it's coming, usually hits when I'm in a furball at low level followed by waking up in the tower.

Taking the pilot out of the equation and just based on the aircraft itself, the C-Hog seems the most uber ride by far post patch. It's dweeby low speed handling with flaps makes it superior to Temp imho. Seeing one with gear down as well just makes me laugh.

262's are only a threat to buffs and those with SA little better then being AFK.

For my 38G the Ki-84 seems to be the toughest one to kill.

After i pull up from the dive, some of the time a skilled pilot will stop his dive and keep climbing back into another roll over the top, all the while i have already banked left or right,(he will now be entering that roll over) and i am now proceeding away, and down "getting speed" as he now notices i am 2.0+ out he will start to come back, by then i am already in a diving turn still keeping speed, buck the nose up... target, and fire.

Again, a skilled pilot will see this coming, he too will nose up and return to a climb, hopefully you can track him or get a gun solution, if you can, take the shot.

I fly the A20G, and it works very well for me.

That is all.

i shot down a tempest with a a6m5. i cherry picked him from above and he never saw me. when i dove on him i was at 380 mph on the verge of losing control. started using my rudder to slow down. when i got to within 200 i opened up with all my guns into the tempest cockpit. the tempest expolded. good kill

ya think?
i finally found time to go into the MA's..so i went to MW for some fights. after spending an hour or so dealing with runners, and hotards, i FINALLY found a good fight. it was co-alt 14k hellkitty v hellkitty.......the fight went on for 3 or 4 minutes, and i was only geting a shot or two here and there.....the guy was very good.....saw a 38 comming in, so i thought i was gonna have trouble, so i got a bit more agressive, and took off 1/2 of his right wing. i figure, he'd down, and turn into the 38(who did very surprisingly stay out of the fight till i did that). i merge the 38, and take a glance over my shoulder, and there's the kitty bearing down on me hard,,,from my 5 low i think......i turn inot him, get his six again....a few more rounds, and there goes part of his left wing.....again i go after the 38 thinking that this time for sure he's down.....the 38 augers, and i see the kitty STILL flying. by the time i got to him, he got the ditch .

it was STILL an excellent fun fight though!

Gixer, the question is what's hardest to kill, not what's hardest to avoid getting killed by.
