3rd Graders Foiled in Plot to Kill their Teacher??
« on: April 02, 2008, 03:14:42 PM »
.

A group of nine 3rd graders upset with being disciplined by their teacher have been foiled in their apparent plans to assault, bind, and then stab her to death.

Interestingly, the main plot leaders appear to be two girls, aged 9 and 10.  One bought a heavy paperweight, to be used to knock the teacher out with.   Another bought a knife, to then be used to stab her.   A boy bought some tape, to be used to bind the teacher after she was knocked out.   Handcuffs were also obtained.

This was a special education class, and all of the students have learning disabilities of one type or another.   So they were not your average typical kids.

Still, it is pretty frighting.   What will these children be capable of when they become adults?    Here is a photo of their bag of supplies they put together for the attack:

Are the police correct in taking this matter so seriously?   Or do you think that the kids were only play acting?

The children are too young to be sentenced to even a juvenile facility.  What do you do in a case like this?   There appears to be no easy answer.

Here is a news story about it:

When i first heard that i chuckled then i froze in shock! My sister in-law teaches 3rd and 4th graders so it's kind of sobering. It's a product of our society, lack of parenting, and our entertainment systems IMO. What's the last action movie/game you played were it wasn't cool to kill someone if they do you wrong? Nightly news first thing they talk about is who died or who killed who where. Kind of morbid in my opinion. Guess we will need armed guards in pre-school and up from now on. :(

Doesn't sounds like they had 'learning disabilities' .....most likely they got taken out of normal classes and placed into 'special' class....and of course teacher is responsible.

That’s a bit of a stretch unless this becomes much more common.  Look up Mary Bell, and there are others, this is not all that uncommon, and not a just a modern problem.

These kids should be put away and watched, in 3rd grade I knew murder was wrong.

I have seen and known such lunatics. Such that go berserk at random times. It's a wonder they didn't manage to kill or seriously hurt anyone at school back then. Thank god they didn't go as far as to use deadly weapons, albeit heavy iron bars and such were a common sight flying through the air.

Please explain what part you think is a stretch? I'm sure i can find statistics that will back up that as our children became more exposed to violent acts and violence in general and that lack of supervision by there parents directly led to them acts of violence. I'm not saying all there acts and the results were intentional on there part. How many of you remember the young kid that killed another with a move he'd seen on WWF? He thought wrestling was fake and that the moves really wouldn't hurt anyone. :(

I am saying this is a freak occurance. A freak occurance, that has been seen before. Did you look up Merry bell? She was an 11 year child killer from the 60s. I dont buy your "its our voilent society causing this", because if that was the case it would be more commen.

Bad parents do have a big part in this, but some people are just not born right in the head.

It's a combo of lack of mom and dad paying attention, and the internet.

I live in Douglas Ga, for anybody that looks at a map you will see that is about 20 mins from waycross.  The college I work at has a satellite campus in Waycross.  This is very scary to me.  I have an 8 year old daughter.  Man makes you wonder what kind of home life these kids have.

Can you imagine the outcry if those kids HAD tried to pull this off and the teacher whacked them senseless with his fist?

That looks like a huge lack of direction for those kids to have ever even thought that was acceptable. Unbelievable.
