You know guys submarines did carry guns and planes. Look at this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_submarine_I-17 it shows many attacks that submarines did on U.S. soil in WWII.

The shore of California was shelled by a Japanese sub and the first and only aircraft attack on US soil flew from a sub
off the coast of Oregon. I think they cud carry troops, shell towns / bases and carry planes. I think they wud be fun.
Don't forget about torpedoing CV groups.

Guys we could launch and re-arm sea-planes from them. And they could be sunk by depth charges which could be added.

Who would you rearm a sea-plane from then? To be honest sub's would be to much of a hassle i believe. Need to design the sub. Need to create an underwater environment. You would have to add depth charges from the destroyers. Possible add sub bases, keep in mind they would have to redo every map that's in use to incorporate it. As well as decided where they would spawn. Also adding appropriate supple convoy's not just a supple barge.
It just seems like to much work. By the time HTC would be done what that they could probably add more planes and or Ground vehicles. Sub's did play a major role ill give you that much, but they were mainly used to sink supple ships from America to it's Allies.

Launch a seaplane from a submarine...?
I know there was a Russian or Japanese 'aircraft carrier' submarine but Im pretty sure it never left the drawing board.

Subs are somthing Ive always wanted to put in the game. My father is a WWII submariner.  USS Carbanaro

Basicly how they would work, is simalar to how convoys and gunners work. You wouldn't just be able to launch a sub then have to drive it for hours to it's destination. What would happen is a subs way points would be set. They would drive themslefs to where you wanted. Once on some one could take control of one of the subs.

Other things also need to be written for subs to be implemented namly sonar for surface ships and depth charges.

That's not as fun as actually being in the sub and controlling it. It's like a CV set way points and let it go. How would you control the torpedoes? Would the subs hunt in "wolf packs" or would the just be off doing their own thing.

The Japanese did that, i only believe once tho. They were off the coast of Oregon i believe, they lunched a biplane with incendiary bombs. They intended to start huge forest fires, hoping that it would delay the US from attacking them. But it was a "successful" mission in part of the plane lunched and was recovered, but the forest fires they intending on starting was a bust.

<Edit>
I would like to see a battle ship before a submarine.

All you have to do is update the ports. No further updating required.

Okay, here's a question..... Would they be part of the battle group or would you have to deploy them like a PT boat??   If they are going to part of the battle group and only be there for support of the other ships then okay, that should be an easy addition per say.   But like said before, if you're planning on deploying these like a PT boat, then you're playing with underwater environments and that's going to be A LOT of work!!!   Then you have to come up with some sort of way to detect the subs and a way to destroy them.   Or, will this be the first "undetectable" platform?  If you're underwater and can't be seen or found, this would be a first.  What's next, we gonna launch ICBM's from them??   IMO, needs a lot more thought and a lot more planning before we can expect to see these...... :salute
