I fancy PJB's point is precise: we need care when we talk about serious things.  The immediate point at hand was a back and forth between a couple of writes.  Not fractious; or if it were, it wasn't germane to Buchanan's essay.  Just the sort of thing we all do.  It's just not posted on in the O'Club.

The numbers are mind numbing. 

No doubt if this thread lives, it'll zoom off in grand O'Club style multi-directionally. 

The bad guys are just so darn bad.  Can anything but "madness" explain it?  Maybe "evil" is the perfect word?"

There is no such thing as a "good" war.  Perhaps, from one side's perspective, a "just" war, but never "good".
