Both sides have valid points.  I just assumed Skuzzy and company let the staff know when updates were coming.  Seems like they'd want their volunteer staff (eg. free employees) to know what is going on.

Most of the time we get a message after the update has been released. Not this time but even so if people are not on a computer with the game installed we cant fix it.

HTC does like to spring updates when they like without pre-warning anyone.

Its their game they can do what they like.  Maybe it would have been nice for them to email the CM staff to let them know that they were going to release it at a set time.  Then a CM staff member hopefully could have been there to rectify the problem straight away.

If they did do this and nobody was available then maybe larry has a point.  It did put a downer on my evening as my squadron rarely get that many people 8 online, at the same time, all ready to go into battle.  It wasn't our squad night, we don't have one, but when we do get a small force, I like to do something constructive with them.  8 of us can be equal to 30 odd MA mega sqwads.  Hopefully I can get enough interest over this weekend to have another go.

Thats why I said we need a brit or two on the staff. Or some people that dont have 9-5 jobs in the cenral time zone. I understand that the staff members have jobs and families, but they also have a responsibility in this game. When they dont do thier job others cant play. The "we volunteer excuse" isnt really a good one because thats the point, they volunteer. When you join the team you know that others are counting on you. They need to diversify so that when an update does come out all the CMs arent at work.

If you guys cant get to a computer for hours after updates then get more staff members or ask HTC to set the arena up after updates or tour changes. Or maybe ask them to give a day or warning. I can see if there was an hour or two delay, but seven hours is just to long.

I believe Steffk is doing a bit of scenario work.

I would volunteer myself but I wouldn't be able to do it for the very reasons you state.  I can't guarantee I'll be online during GMT day time when the US guys are sleeping.  Even then you would need to come up with 3 or 4 non US staff members to try and cover everyday.

Its just one of those things that no-one can do much about.

Oh, sorry, taking care of the arena after the update should have been my business, as I would have been at home and awake, but as I wasn't near my computer on Tuesday evening about the time when the patch came out, the first I read of it was Wednesday at work when it was already taken care of. Sorry all!

No apology needed Panzzer <S>

Somehow the next morning the sun came up, I'm not sure how it did, but I'd be damned it did.  ;)

Did you have to do that? It's bordering on gay. You've been out in the woods alone fishing too much lately.  :huh

Bordering nothing, That's 100%.  Anyhow, I think that the patch benefits far outweigh any problems in the AvA.   :rock
