AI difficulties
« on: April 12, 2008, 11:40:59 PM »
The AI is very fun to fight indeed.

They seem to know how to keep a fight fast when they need to! They're really good practise until I can cough up some money.

The thing is they'd be MUCH more formidable and challenging if they used flaps. It was terrible that I outturned a Zeke in an F4U-1D with full flaps since the fight got sea-level low and slow with one AI which neglected to lower flaps. Before that, the A6M was fighting tremendously well and predominantly in the vertical whenever I dropped enough flap to just ALMOST get a shot out.

So I have 2 questions:

1) Would it be possible to make AI drop flaps in certain conditions? Perhaps they could be coded so that they drop a notch of flaps at corner speed or something.
2) How are the AI reactions coded? Maybe there could be a difficulty setting introduced to get me ready for the human players of the MA.

After all, the AI does try to change maneuvers every time you're about to get on its tail.

An A6M does need to lower flaps to out-turn an F4U, whatever model.  AI sucks.

the AI seems to play the same game no matter what, I can stick it in a p51 and myself in a hurricane 1, and it will still try and stall fight.
