Please make the "Global Radio 5" a toggle button.

If the "Global Radio 5" button were set up as a toggle, instead of an on only, it would make the game much nicer by being able to bring it up and down quickly and not having to fumble around for the mouse to highlight the text box, then hit enter to get it off the screen.  This has been brought up before, but I don't remember any comments from AH.

What Jazz is asking is:
You know how you can use / for radio channel 1, <shift>/ for radio 2, <ctrl>/ for radio 3 and <alt>/ for radio 4?
Why can we not have a similar keyboard shortcut for the VOX radio channel (Channel V)

It's the text fuction of that tunable voice channel. You can type there like on any other radio.

But there is a workaround: You can tune any of that other radio channels to the same frequency your V channel has, i.e. "Squad", "Mission", "167" or whatever.
For example, you could have
Radio 1 - Country
Radio 2 - Room
Radio 3- CH200
Radio 4 - Squad
Radio 5(V) - Squad

I believe more folk have missed the point of the request, and I too may be misunderstanding what is being asked, but my gist of this is.
If you happen to have all other channels busy say
1:200 2:country 3:room 4:squad and V: mission
It would be handy to be able to hotkey directly to channel V to type in the text buffer rather than vox for clarity without having to:
bring up radio bar, MANUALLY (with mouse) select the channel V and then type.

I type on my vox channel all the time. I set mine I believe to shift "  for the hotkey.
Its possible to map it, but it does not come mapped as default. You have to go in and do it.

I have any vox channels set to radio number three, I can speak If I want but I have a channel set aside for vox typing

I usually tune channel 4 to same channel as vox. That solves it 4 me.

Chanel 5 text is already available with the Shift+F12 key combination as the default.

The point of this thread seemed to be that he wanted 5 text channels, so using channel two doesn't' help him, and it's a waste since the game already has the ability to access channel 5 text using the keyboard as I stated above. Maybe you didn't see the post while you were composing yours?

My apologies for not being able to explain myself in my original post.  I currently have my radio selection mapped to a button on my throttle.  When I press it the radio display comes up on screen, along with the box for typing.  I would like to be able to press the same button again and have that display go away. Currently the only way I know of to get rid of it is to use my mouse to get the cursor blinking again in the typing window and press enter.  It would be much more convenient if "Radio 1, 2, 3, 4, 5" buttons were "toggles" instead of "on" only.  Hope that clears it up.
