Gerry Beck

Folks,

A few weeks ago, there was a post about the P-51A crash that took the life of the pilot in Osh-Kosh, WI.  That, combined with a few other items that I ran across in real life, allowed me to discover the Fargo Air Museam.  While not big in nature, they have an excellent display of real aircraft, including a flyable Zero.

As well, they have a link to information on Gerry Beck, the pilot who was killed in that P-51.  What a tremendous person he was and what a gift giver to the world of aviation.  I would encourage anyone to spend sometime at the following link, as well as link to the info on Gerry Beck listed on the home page.

Hmm... might have to go there one day considering it's only a few hours from the Twin Cities.

Looks like an interesting place.

Just southeast of me is Lonestar Flight Museum. They offer rides in several aircraft and have a rotating display. Some aircraft leave to a show and others come in for display. The Museum is located in Galveston Texas. http://www.lsfm.org/

Lake Minnetonka is a beautiful place.  I've been there a couple of time for evening cruises with work. (Not with the Vikings)

Cold as hell in the winter though.

I am dying to get my boat back out on Minnetonka this year...we still have ice on the lakes!

I work in Wayzata with a small view of Lake Minnetonka from my office space  :)

BTW, there's quite a bit of ice out by the docks on the west side of Wayzata Bay (but only because they bubble them all winter).
