massive online arenas
« on: April 16, 2008, 05:38:21 PM »
Came back (two years, how time flies), saw the above as quoted, got hopeful, was dissapointed and went away again.

For the attention span challenged, I think that about covers it, no I have enough cheese thank you but this Cabernet is a bit off.

Long way off in fact. Massive today = well, quite a lot more than a few lobbies with a 200 player limit.

Example coming, panties bunched up ready for it fanbois? Nah, sorry guys I won't mention it here but for those living down a cave waiting for the apocalypse for the past wee while you can google "mmorpg online record". Yeah one shard, over 30,000 people on it. It's what I am used to. Yes I know where \/\/o\/\/ is, no that wasn't the correct answer, so if that was what you guessed - go to the back of the class.

Are these little rooms what was really wanted L<cough>a<cough>z "give me an early arena or I'll scream and scream until you are all sick"? Seemed like a recipe for arrested development back in the day, and it sure seems to have turned out that way. I really wanted to be wrong about this. So he got that but just to spite the poor old sod, who was quite an endearing character really, "misshuns" got added too. Hell, at least I think they did, is that axis-allies by any chance, sorry I didn't look tbh.

Ah well, now please cheer me up and say AH III is coming soon. Go on do, even add that cute little (tm) thing. How it's going to be BIG, well bigger than the old MA was anyway and compared to today that would quite frankly ma'am be freakin huge. If the CIA let the author of it get away from his special ops duties for long enough to finish said masterwork of course, better keep his black widow spider immunisation tablets handy too. Just in case.

I wonder what makes him think that someone would care about his opinion.  Must be a deep seated need for attention, possibly very low self-esteem.  Just a guess.  But the post is a hoot!  :)

Unless you live in China and played Eve Online on the Chinese servers, don't see how you could be used to something you can't experience.  By the way, those 30,000 on the same server came quite close to breaking it and from the reports and reviews, it caused lag never seen before in any online game.

I think Optic Communications has even placed a limit on the server population cap as they don't have the server technology to be able to handle that mass population load on a single server at the same time.

Next time you come back and decide to go away, there is really no need to post, just leave.

I like how its a "leave and come back," but for some reason he uses a completely new ID and makes no reference to his prior ID.

Also seems to completely miss the difference between thousands of elves wandering around looking for boots of escapement or whatever, and a flight simulator. Not really sure what 30K fighters in the air at the same time would be simulating, unless its some poor combat pilot's endless nightmare.

Hence an un-scorable whine, with not even the basic elements (either warped logic or unreasoning retarded fury) to make it entertaining.
