4/16/00 Special Event Nik2 vs F4u-1D
« on: April 15, 2000, 12:49:00 PM »
April 1st 1945

The 10th Army began landing on the South Eastern shore of Okinawa. By April 4th the 1st Marine Division reached the West shore. The Japanese had several major airfields at: Kadena, Yontan, Machinato, Yonabaru, Naha, and Ie Shima Island.

How would the F4U's faired against the Nik2's had those two fighters clashed over the skies of Okinawa?

On Sunday April 16th the 332nd will be in the Special Events Arena doing fighter sweeps with the Niki. We ask all those who participate to fly the F4U-1D's and plan on some serious dog fighting.

This will last approximately 1 to 2 hours from 3 PM Eastern time till 5 PM Eastern time.  For those of you who enjoy the classic matches come join the fun.
