Don't give politicans your email address
« on: April 17, 2008, 06:55:51 AM »
After Senator Obama's recent poor choice of words, I went to his website and asked if the 2nd amendment was the only "tradition" he had problems with.
Since then I have received emails thanking me for my contribution; emails thanking me for my support for the Democratic Party; emails thanking me for my support for Senator Obama. I even received one inviting me to another state to help with the Senator's campaign there.  All of them telling me how much more I could do to help "the cause".

Lesson learned?  Do not give a politican your email address.

I have had much the same experience with my democrat representitives here in kaliforinia..  I tell them that I don't agree with their stance on a firearms rights bill or an illegal immigration policy and then they send out a form letter thanking me for my "support" and then tell me their views that are 180 degrees off from mine.

with the half negro guy...  It makes sense that as a liberal and a democrat that he doesn't have a clue as to what the second is all about so why would he have a clue as to what you are saying?

Did you know, "obama" has fewer letters than "half negro guy" and is easier to type?

well..  I counted and you are correct.    even osamabama is easier but...

I think "half negro guy" just says it all.   cuts right through the bs.

there is a proper term for barack obama's racial mixture, he is a mulatto. that is the word used to describe a person who is of mixed caucasian and negroid blood.

I'm curious as to why his racial heritage is a big deal to some of you?  Isn't it sufficient to oppose the man for his political stance and his ideology?

It is for me. I look at him and all I see is a thin Ted Kennedy or a more articulate (and politically calculating) Dick Durbin.

I suspect it is to do with the 'black vote' that he earns for playing up his 'blackness'. The more 'black' people think he is, the more black people who would not have voted otherwise go down and vote just to 'get the black man in and stop the inequality'.

I think I see Laz getting at using race to gain an advantage.

By calling him 'half negro' and mocking his labelling as a black man Laz seeks to undermine Obama's playing of the race card for political gain.

I am not following the American election closely but that is exactly what I thought of Obama when I first heard him introduced as 'What could be America's first black president'. I would be very concerned about Obama getting in on account of his ethnicity rather than his political policies and resolve.

You're right lazs, it says all it needs to say... about your views.

That pretty much says it all about your views too. Why not refer to a racist such as obama as he refers to others. I get sick of the one way street types.

My neighbor across the street is a black man. I don't usually think of him in that regard though. I watch his home when he is away and he watches mine, very good Americans. He had an obama sign in his front yard for a couple of months. I noticed about a month ago he removed it. I was talking to him just the other day and asked him about the sign, he said he decided that obama was not as informed as he had thought at frist. He was voting for someone else.

he isn't fooling anyone.  the black people I know are all centrists and are in as much of a quandry with the choices we have this election as I am.

obama will have the votes that the democrats always have, the extreme left and the people who have made being on the dole a generation spanning traditional form of employment.

the extreme right is out for this presidential election you can expect them to attempt to recapture the legislative branch over the next four years.

those of us middle of the road, salt of the earth folks are left scratching our heads and wondering what is the best choice for the nation and our progeny, be we black, white, hispanic or the those like myself, a little of each.

Why refer to his race at all? Do you ever see anyone posting about the all-white candidate?
