The hard truth is there is no correlation between length of involvement and quality of posts. Sadly, at fora of this sort MANY, MANY people: (1) don't read what others have written with care, and attention to detail; (2) nor have they mastered the basic skills of critical thinking and logical argumentation. So, we see logical fallacy piled upon logical fallacy: argument ad hominem, followed by argument by assertion, with some appeals to authority thrown in for good measure. "Old player" bombast and condescension is really little more than that---an appeal to authority. So, I suggest that the content of each post be carefully scrutinized, and NOT its origin or genealogy. Really this whole thing smells like "fratenity/ country club" snobbishness----"I was dumped on and went through hell as a newb---so you are too!"----basically a coward's and a crawler's creed with little sense of justice. So, to be clear---this newb ain't crawling---and if I stick around long enough---I ain't gonna dish either.
