"Big Friend, Little Friend" by Richard E. Turner
« on: April 18, 2008, 04:51:41 PM »
So I'm going through my father's collection of aviation-themed books and found this one.  Oddly, I wasn't that familiar with it as I had most of my father's inventory memorised by title since I was a kid.  It's a rather small book and seems to be rather rare.  I've started reading it and have already come across some good anecdotal stuff by page 25 regarding Blakeslee and some young pilot cutting him off during approach.  "The next SOB that cuts me off is going to get a rear end full of lead!"  Good stuff.

I bought a paperback version of that years ago.   Not a bad read.  Contains quite a few accounts of Turner's scrapes with Luftwaffe fighters.
