Ive just finished up talking to John...we talked for a good while.. This is what he said

John asked me to fill in everyone. so i am going to post what i have posted on our squad forums so all can read.

Hey fellas

Salute. First off I would like to say all of you have moved me by the way everyone has come together for one of our own. This post has brought me to tears a few times. However this post has not affected me as bad as it is now.

John called me today after his doctor’s appointment. We talked for a little while gave him a chance to talk to Reapr. John wanted to post this himself but said he did not feel like crying again nor did he have the strength to (emotionally).

John’s Doctors visit did not go to well. They found more problems with John that have taken a dramatic toll on his life. In the begin they thought John could go on with day to day life and be ok for a year or two. With this last trip to the doctors John found out that he will be lucky to see the end of June.

I was devastated when I heard this news as I am sure you all are as you read this. John made it clear that his mom has JETBLST’s number in case something happened sooner, she would give JETBLST a call, or when it happens for that matter. John wanted to make sure we kept informed if anything happened.

I take no honor in posting this, for this is the hardest post I have ever had to make. I am not saying I didn’t want to do it. I believe the honorable thing would have been posting that everything is going to be ok with John. I do take honor in posting that John is a great man and a great friend.

I will be working on a picture that John is requesting to be posted. I made a date with John or might I say I made a date with John and this entire squadron. John will be logging on for what might be his last time on the game on Sunday May 4rd. I ask all to try to make this event. I salute each and every one of you. Thank you all for showing me just how much this squadron has turned into a family.

If any of you would like to make it for the May 3rd event you are more then welcomed to join in. we will be flying Bish that tour. I will be stepping down as CO for the day and John will be CO for the day. its the lest i can do for a man like John.

I do not know how I missed this posting for so long, and I suppose i should actually register for our asquadron's boards.  I am very saddened at this news, as I have called kilinu friend.  My wife and I will be sure to prey for you in your time of need that God will comfort you and have his hand on you, and give you His peace that passes all understanding.  Keep your eyes and heart on Him and he will see you through times of trials, never leaving nor forsaking.

ok so here is the offical time and date. Sunday the 4th at 3PM eastern time. thats 2PM Central time 1PM mountain time 12PM West Coast time and 11AM Alaskan Time. Salute and hope i can get a good turn out. if you are wanting to show up tune your vox to 137. i ask all CO and XO to step down for the night as John (KillinU AKA Killin44) Mcelroy will be running the show that night. Salute again and thanks for everything everyone has done so far.

I have come to know John as not only a squadie but a friend. I spent a good hour on the phone with him and given his very serious condition, his spirits are good. He has come to terms with this as best he can. It would be fantastic if all could put aside any differences and let John CO for a bit. I would love to see that kind of support from all of us. In the time I've known John and for you that already know him, you know he's one hell of a player. My prayers go out to John and I thank you for all your kind words and thoughts. <S>

I Salute you John McElroy and will see you there brother.
