Guppy, I've always wondered: what's the trick to always getting your planes to catch fire?

I've often tried, but only succeeded in a buggy Rhinewin terrain when my Jug crashed landed on an invisible hill, and I fired a rocket to see what would happen.
In the resultant frame rate drop, I got to see my plane on fire for the second before I got my arse kicked back to the tower.

I just make sure my crew chief leaves the fuel filler caps a bit loose.  That way there is a stream of gasoline flowing back across the wing to begin with.  A tracer hit and boom, you are on fire

Yossarian, sometimes even his quote doesn't have to happen.   But the "crux of the flaming issue" is to "look good while it is happening".   Corky has a leg up on Hooch.

Actually, you can't see a lot of the impact fires in-game. If you make a really rough landing and film it, in game you'll see nothing but broken pieces. Watch the film and most likely you'll be burning. That's why if you ditch and sit there long enough you seem to randomly explode.

Funny thing is after Dan crashed into the fence I took off with flaps and was right in the fight.   I heard him over channel say what he was going to do, and was trying to tell him it wasn't a good idea....but Dan the determined just had to have his way   I like how when he got about halfway there, we realized that he couldn't turn around, lol.     

We have a good time, and don't take much of anything seriously.  So tanks beware, we're coming to you!
