Failed Aceshigh exe
« on: April 19, 2008, 07:16:47 AM »
I can't play the game because that's the message I get frequently "failed to execute Aceshigh exe."  Anyone else having this problem??? Is this faulty game issue or my computer issue??

You might have to do a uninstall, reinstall of the game.  Back up all your personal settings (sounds, skins, stick prefs) before doing so.  Sometimes deleting the cache file clears up some issues (it's reinstalled at next log in), but it sounds like a corrupted file somewhere.

I've got this problem too, I have two seperate versions of Aces High installed on my computer, one I use for playing the game and the other I use for skin work (viewing and taking screenshots of the new aircraft) and both have crashed. I cannot open either version, both give me a failed .exe message immediately.

I am currently downloading the game again. Hopefully this works.

I reinstalled, no solution.

I cannot access the game at all for an update and reinstallation solves nothing.

My problem was with a Nvidea update.

Somehow it said it installed but did not and it seemed to have removed the card from the system.

Checking the update again (through the HP updater ((I'm now turning that salamander stunninghunk thing off)) ) and re-updating the update fixed the problem.

Now I have to rebuild AH because I diddlying reinstalled it fresh.

Problem is back again, Failed AH .exe and CTD as soon as game goes to boot after preloading the tex memory.

[edit] The problem seems to be isolated to offline mode.

Two succesful logins and made it to the tower in Online mode... failed every time when trying to go offline.

Ah, excellent.

I think it may be partly to do with my particular system too (as in, something other than what is outlined in your link), I think I've solved the problems.

Thank you for the reply, Skuzzy.
