can't join 8 player game

I used to play frequently and I am getting back into it. but when I go to join a 8 player game it says that "there are no arena's currently available" I have never seen this before... can someone explain this, and perhaps help me fix my problem? thank yoU!

You can't join 8 player, because that is not a feature of AH anymore.

You have two choices. Play offline with up to 8 players in your local LAN at home, or subscribe and play in the numerous online arenas, including the different "Main" Arenas.

I tried LAN. I have the ports 2000 - 5000 open. no fire wall or protection up, and my roommates can't see my server... help please?
