Dropping vehicle supplies
« on: April 21, 2008, 09:57:46 AM »
Although it doesn't happen often enough, I've dropped vehicle supplies on occasion.

If I shove supplies out the door, and there are enemies in the vacinity, does it also resupply them?
Or just my team?

Enemy can pick up supplies as well, if he's close enough.

Yep they can get them, which is why the 80th will sometimes stage huge goon missions with vehicle supplies and run it to enemy vbases/airbases.  We wouldn't want them running out of ammo for out helpless goons now would we?

Both can use them if close enough.

This weekend I tried to get an M3 onto a vehicle base that was being defended by Wirblewinds.  I went right past one by the maproom and, as he turned to try to kill me I let my troops go to distract him then opened up on him with my .50 cal.  I took out his turret, then killed him but he had damaged me and I was sitting by the trees behind the maproom.

The next thing I knew there were supplies.  I gobbled up 10 in a row then there were more so I gobbled up 10 more.  I didn't want to move as long as I could keep gobbling up their supplies.  Finally another Wirble got wise and came and killed me.

I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

I don't drop the supplies until a friendly needs them just to prevent them being gobbled up by the red guys.

IF THEY'RE IN RANGE, YOUR SUPPLIES WILL RE-SUPPLY THE ENEMY TOO.

From Training Section:

Quote
A vehicle supply type is also available to repair and supply vehicles with ordnance. When these supplies are dropped, any friendly vehicle within a half mile radius receives a Load Supplies button on their screen. Clicking this button will use the supplies to both repair and rearm their vehicle. If the supplies are unused, they vanish after 15 minutes. Vehicle supplies will not reload troops or the vehicle and object supplies.

The game documentation needs updating.
Used to fly as Halo46, GRHalo, Hobo and Punk at the end.
